Matt’s scientific focus has revolved around commercial development/ enhancement of food product processing (Yogurt, Milk and Cheese) and feedstuffs for production animals. Matt’s innovations in technologies have increased food safety via the reduction of pathogens in meat and dairy products and led to development of improved processing of feedstuffs and commercialization of increased digestibility of corn, calf feed and robotically administered ruminant feed. His research group co-developed feed additives that modify and enhance digestive fermentation in ruminants, poultry and swine and are fed in operations in the US, Mexico, Australia and Brazil. Matt deeply understands the processes connecting research, translation, and commercialization, is connected to multiple university research laboratories, has authored 16 US-Issued Patents and hold trademarks for human food products.
