The RANGE today announced that Matt Garner, Ph.D., will step back into the role of Executive Director as the organization begins a leadership transition. Garner will serve in the role while the Board of Directors conducts a search for a permanent Executive Director, ensuring continuity and momentum during the transition period.
“This transition reflects the strength of our organization and our commitment to long-term impact,” said Jason Herrick, Chair of The RANGE Board of Directors. “Matt’s deep understanding of our mission, our partners, and the Texas Panhandle allows us to move forward with confidence as we begin the search for our next Executive Director.”
This change follows the announcement that Executive Director Jacob Cates has accepted a new opportunity with Bell Textron. This is an incredible opportunity for Jacob, and we could not be prouder. He brought passion and energy to The RANGE’s mission, and we are confident he will continue to make a positive difference for the Texas Panhandle in his new role.
“Our Board is grateful for Jacob’s leadership and the momentum he helped build,” Herrick added. “We wish him the very best in this next chapter.”
Our mission remains clear. At The RANGE, we believe in putting people and resources where they can make the greatest impact. We bring industry leaders together to drive innovation in food, beef, dairy, crop, and energy production—everything we do is focused on strengthening the Panhandle and ensuring our region is well positioned for the future.
